Assessment Team (AT)
The Assessment Team conducts an independent, evidence-based review of an academic programme under the Programme Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE) or the applicable quality assurance process. The team evaluates the accuracy of the self-assessment, confirms the effectiveness of programme arrangements and identifies opportunities for improvement.
Responsibilities of the Assessment Team
- Review the Self-Assessment Report, PREE documentation and supporting evidence before the visit.
- Assess the programme’s objectives, learning outcomes, curriculum, teaching and assessment practices.
- Examine faculty profile, governance, student support, laboratories, learning resources and quality assurance arrangements.
- Meet relevant stakeholders, including programme leadership, faculty, students, alumni and administrative representatives where appropriate.
- Validate reported strengths and identify gaps, risks and areas requiring improvement.
- Prepare a clear assessment report containing evidence-based findings and practical recommendations.
- Discuss findings with the concerned academic unit and the Directorate of Quality Enhancement.
- Support follow-up by reviewing the programme’s improvement plan and implementation evidence where required.
Assessment Team members are expected to maintain objectivity, confidentiality, professional conduct and avoidance of conflict of interest throughout the review.
